Travis’s work has been shown in numerous galleries and he was a featured artist at the Denver Art Museum. His career in Metalsmithing includes works exhibited in “Jewelers of America” shows both in New York and San Francisco. He has a BFA from the University of Texas, Austin with an emphasis in Sculpture. He studied with Nelda Getty (Charter Member of Society of North American Goldsmiths) and was introduced to Heikki Seppa at Washington University in St Louis, MO. Travis completed his graduate work with Heikki Seppa with a focus on anticlastic raising. His sculptures and jewelry reflect the myriad of forming techniques from this training. Travis formerly owned the Naja Tool and Supply, Denver’s premier jewelry supplier, and has taught workshops at colleges, universities, and high schools. His workshops are indicative of his expertise in fabrication, casting, and lapidary.
