In this two day workshop, instructor Nancy Blair will teach students how to design and execute a pendant with a smaller stone on top of a larger bottom one. Students are asked to bring to class 10 sets of smaller and larger stone cabochons to decide in class which are best to work with.
Day 1- The first 3/4 of day one will be arranging the stones, drilling, bezel setting and pinning. The last 1/4 will be designing the pendant itself and making sure students have all materials needed to build their creation.
Day 2- Build the pendant, set stones and polish.
Nancy is well known for her sterling fusing techniques and stone on stone technique. Students love her laid back, friendly teaching style and go home excited with what they have learned.
Come and learn how to arrange stones in your work on top of each other. It's fun and another way for your work to stand out in uniqueness. This method can be used in many different types and styles of jewelry.
"The best part of the class was learning the process and hearing the many discussions between Nancy and the students. Nancy helped us talk through a number of design challenges once we decided on our stone selections and she also helped us understand the hardness of many stones as well as what to expect when drilling through them. I loved the quality of instruction. Nancy is patient and openly shares her wealth of knowledge and experience. She was constantly moving around the room to make herself available to all of us." Bonnie M.
