Tuition includes all other supplies used in the workshop.
Paint Pens (only if you wish to free draw your own designs)
20 and/or 22 gauge sterling silver (1 etch will use about 1.5x3 inches of metal for a pair of earrings. The largest you would be able to etch in this workshop would be 3x3 inch). There should be time for several etching sessions, so bring metal accordingly. 22 gauge is a great weight for earrings, but you will not be able to etch as deep as you would with 20 gauge silver.
Images will be available for you to use. If you do not wish to use the instructor’s images please bring a master sheet printout on white paper or bring a thumb drive with the Master sheet file of images that you would like to etch. Strong lined black and white images with no grey are the best. Also use the printer setting that will give you the darkest printout. For this workshop please limit the size to smaller images, and if you wish to etch earrings have two copies of the image side by side. Unlike PNP resist, UV photo film will etch in the area that is black on your image so take this into consideration when choosing your images or use a program like Paint to reverse the black and white.
