Choosing nontraditional shapes of stones is part of the design challenges many artists encounter, but also adds that creative edge to your work. This workshop takes you beyond the introduction in Metals 1 and 2 of setting simple cabochon stones. John will challenge you by teaching you how to bezel set faceted stones in four distinct shapes.
Using a specialized wheel for practice, you will set two 6 x 3mm marquise-cut, two 6 x 4mm oval cut, two 4mm princess-cut and six 4mm round cut CZ gemstones. Other methods of bezel setting such as corner tabs, ½ bezel and split bezels will be discussed with examples and explanations.
A Kit Fee of $45 is included in your Tuition and includes the wheel and faceted stones listed above.
