This simply amazing workshop will take you to the next level in your metalsmithing skill set. Instructor Belle Barer is traveling from New Mexico to teach DSJA students the most effective techniques in creating a mini sculpture to wear on the hand or to display.
In this three day workshop, students will apply new skills to fabricate a stunning ring, and at the same time gain confidence with soldering, using the flexshaft and using your hands to do precision work.
Students will start by discovering how to successfully use a template to build a hollow ring and vastly improve your soldering skills in the process. Professional finishing techniques will be thoroughly covered and practiced so your ring will be gallery worthy!!
With Belle’s expert guidance, students will explore effective methods to accurately set small faceted stones on the ring.
This workshop teaches essential skills necessary for moving forward on the path to creating showcase quality work.
